Moments that Matter – IAO Histories

I’ve always wondered…why was the IAO formed?

Who were the original members? What was the mission of the largest non-specialty orthodontic society, then and now?

To answer these questions, IAO has begun interviewing our leaders, those who were there from the beginning. Join us in learning the sometimes surprising, sometimes touching, and always fascinating stories of IAO’s Moments that Matter.

Interview with Dr. Terrance J. Spahl

Dr. Terrance J. Spahl, co-author, with Dr. John Witzig, of the seminal work, Clinical Management of Basic Maxillofacial Orthodpedic Appliances, is a well-known figure in functional orthodontics, but just how well do you really know him?

A Senior Certified Instructor who has lectured extensively throughout the US and abroad, Dr. Spahl is also the son of a brew master, a cowboy, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. In his own words he is, “a guy that fixes teeth for a living.” Get to know this influential figure a bit better by watching Dr. Lee interview in the first part of our ongoing oral hisotry project, Moments that Matter.
